Subsequent to serving 5 years of articles and graduating with an Honours Bachelor in Accountancy and a Certificate in theory in Accountancy, Chris joined MRM in 1993 as audit manager. After serving in this capacity for 3 years was admitted a partner on the back of his rapidly growing client base. At that time he was admitted to the Society of Commercial and Financial Accountants which is now known as the South African Institute of Professional Accountants.

Chris is also a member of The South African Institute of Taxation and is certified as a Master Tax Practitioner, which allows him to tangle with South African Revenue Services at its highest level.

Aside from being a professional advisor of high competence Chris is also a successful businessman in his own right. Chris has personally been involved in IT, Timber plantations, Product development, Marketing and Tourism businesses to name a few.  He feels it is critical that to dispense meaningful advise he needs to be at the coalface of commerce to appreciate that most challenges are solved from experiential knowledge and not always from the yellowing pages of text books.

Chris has been domiciled in Hillcrest for over 20 years living in peaceful harmony with his wife Eronica, his two children Aiden and Joel and his 3 stepchildren Jody, Jarryd and Casey. Aside from his passion for business he is in his true happy place when on a beach fishing and generally losing himself to nature.With 30 years experience to his name, 22 of those have been at partner level making him astute at governing the strategic direction of MRM and setting the bar for the standards he expects from those within MRM family.
