She might have grown up in a small town, but Tammy certainly does not have small aspirations. Tammy started her journey to become a qualified accountant a day after writing her last Matric exam. She completed 5 years of articles and obtained her bachelor’s degree in accounting sciences from the University of South Africa and is a full member of the South African Institute of Professional Accountants. Shortly after completing her articles Tammy decided to leave the farmlands of the North – West to embrace the coastal vibrance Durban has to offer.

In the space of a year she rapidly climbed up the ladder from a tax consultant to a tax manager and it was during this time, she nurtured her natural leadership skills and found her love to train other young accountants. Tammy joined MRM in 2022 as the manager of the compliance department responsible for preparing all the firm’s client’s financial statements while taking care of the Trainee Accountants to guide them through their apprenticeship. One year later Tammy was given the opportunity to become part of the directorship of MRM Financial Counsel Inc. She looks forward to building relationships and assisting clients for many years to come.

Tammy is passionate about helping business owners to understand the complexities of tax and accounting that many find overwhelming. “My aim is to not just produce financial statements but to rather assist and guide my clients in a manner that is tailor made to them personally to understand and utilize the information in order for them to excel in their business.”

Out of the office, you might find Tammy paddle boarding on the ocean or enjoying adventures with her friends.
